This Geetech G2S Pro is driving me mad. Everytime I fix one thing, another thing comes along for me to figure out how to fix!
I haven't touched this printer (it's never actually got to the point of completing the calibration and starting to print) in months (probably out of frustration) but here I am now and I have a totally new problem.
My stepper motors and their upgraded DRV8825 driver chips are getting very, very hot. Burnt my fingers tips in 2 seconds hot! All 3 stepper motors and driver chips are getting this hot.
And because of this, I am getting the error and it shuts down. I can successfully connect to it in Repetier host fine, no problem, but as soon as I press home I get this error, and I disconnect and reconnect and it starts to get very hot.
To clarify, I can wait 12 hours, let it get back to room temperature, turn it on, walk away for 30 minutes, come back to it and nothing's got warm. I start using it with repetier and ardruino for the firmware and that's when my troubles begin.
I have 3 upgraded stepper driver chips and the original 2 A4988 driver chips (I had to bur replacements anyway as 2 of them stopped working and support, or so-called geeetech supports is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike!) for the 2 extruders, which I haven't used yet because it's taken me a while to sort out the un-level dual head unit that came pre built that I had to disassemble and re-build so that when one head touches the bed, so does the other one, on a level surface.
