ok so i did this trying to make all my Diagonal Rods the same length, (didn't heat it long enough) so i purchased a set of these. they are bit longer than the stock ones so i will have to cut them down to make the required 196mm. (EDIT: link for rods of Ebay) www.ebay.com.au/itm/191240292646?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=490376589054&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITBut first i had to deal with connecting them to the carriages and the Effector as these have a 5mm ID hole, where the Stock rod end bearings had 6mm. so i came up with 2 different versions. with a mixture of washers and nuts to try to get the same range of moving as the stock rods. (TBC next post)

Are there rod kits out there that would fit the existing Rod End hardware?

Very Nice! Thanks for the detailed pictures, in case I have to follow in your footsteps. Honestly as I'm slowly learning start buying critical part backups now. Rods, bearings and belts. and honestly the amount off effort that goes into first correcting rods then to take out minor slop and tilt. its way better to get new rods you make to your own specifications that are correct. I was pissed when it happened that i broke the stock rod, but now I'm happy it did my effector is 110% better. and would even suggest it as a must do upgrade.

I never found any, the only option i could source was buy of Geeetech un assembled but @ AU$10 each rod it didn't make sense to. if you want steal i also got a set of these but you can't cut these at home hobbies level that i am and don't have the tools but if you had a metal saw and die set you could cut them down. www.ebay.com.au/itm/161740690052?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITexcept these don't fit the stock rod ends and are the smaller kind. but their all metal and ill be actually using them in the next printer i build that will be happening.

Very thought out or at least it appears you were quick on your feet. I am going to try in a couple weeks to see how much trouble it will be to Mill the rods and connectors. If it works out then maybe I can make a few sets. Would save a lot of people a lot of trouble.

Like you, I don't have the shop or shop tools to deal with that level of work. For now, I'll hope that my set is "good enough."
