(SOLVED)
Hey guys (and girls)
i have been an owner of an g2s pro now for a while.
during the initial calibration proces i had some issues, which i mostly got solved and started to do some basic (calibration) prints.
during the little boat print (forgtot the nam, but you will probably understand what i mean) the printer went wild.. (still don't know why)
but i ended up needing to clean a nozzel, during that process i broke a "heat brake" anyway i decided to upgrade (as i had exams an needed to study anyway)
so i ordered parts. waited till they got in... worked on other shit and now i'm finally taking the time to finish this all (mainly as i want print stuff for my drone instead of buying while i have a half finished printer right behind me)
what did i mod?
build in 2 pcs of e3d clones (got it to fit nicely physically)
order the new abs linear slider holders and replaced them
used nylon bolts and nuts to spare some weight to mount these
used plastic linear sliders
upgraded repetier to newer (newest) version (through the old one away) silly me
and i'm working under ubuntu 16.10
had some initial issues with getting it to home nicely but figured it was some linear bearings alignment issues, which was indeed the case plus an issue with the y axis switch.
so now it home perfectly (better then i'm used to anyway).
but now i bumped into an issue i really don't have a clue where to start (i google, but found no answer, most likely because i don't know what to look for)
the issue.. when you move the spider along the z-azis (not the z-pillar, the actual z-axis (confusing this))
it only moves upwards.. so for both up and down command it moves upwards, also it moves not for the intended length, but untill one (only one, so not like a hoe signal) hits the switch.
has anyone have any clue on where to start with this?
i tried updating the firmware and re-downloading repetier..
also i would be interested in a different software with which one can manually control the movements to i can see if it is an repetier or printer issue. but i don't know any.
additionally the x,y,z, position in the repetier program.. the figures are not at all aligned with the space in which there are supposed to belong.
thanks in advance..
Matthieu
ps: oke that post was a minute to early.. right after i though about checking if i can controle it manually with the know on the printer itself.
but found (also?) only movement in positive direction possible. well that is not entirely true.
when i move the spider manually downwards and then i can move it up and down, but only back to the original position.
feels like me like the printer is upside-down.. it should move downwards from home. but it only wants to move upwards.
for now i have nothing to add.. as soon as my mind comes up with a test or something to look at i will let you guys know..
